![]() ![]() Mavado has vehemently denied that he is wanted by the police and believes that the corrupt justice system has conjured up a ‘fake warrant’ to frustrate his attempts to regain his money. Still, Senior-Smith will have to wait until October 13th to find out whether his client will be allowed to testify via video link. “Mavado is not a critical witness, he would just appear to say that the money in question belongs to him the lawyer and the other party who paid over the money to Messado are the critical witnesses in the case,” Senior-Smith said. Senior-Smith is unruffled by the brouhaha surrounding the admissibility of Mavado’s testimony, dubbing it a “storm in a teacup” as his client’s testimony is not critical to the successful prosecution of the case. Approval can only be granted if Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, has no outstanding warrants in Jamaica. In July, the ODPP had been set to submit an application seeking approval from the court for Mavado, who resides in the US, to give testimony via video link in the high-profile fraud case. Brooks and another man Andre Hinds, were ultimately convicted of the murder of Lorenzo Thomas, who was killed on June 5, 2018. Reports are Mavado had already left the island, following a Jconfrontation with a man in the community, who was allegedly involved in a dispute with the artist’s teenage son, Dantay Brooks. The wind blasts air, tipping and turning the teacup at frightening angles. The waves ebb the gritty shore, reaching the polished rim before the fall. The lightning beams, sending shockwaves in all different directions above. The wind blows brutally, destroying matter and causing everything to be destructed. The waves are treacherous, as the strong energy surges through the rough current. The thunder explodes with fury and rage, it's complete extremity and ability showing. The lightning flashes radiantly, with burning heat rods in the air. The rain pours down, like a rainfall, spilling the water high and low. The wind exhales with a shivering breeze, creating a whirlpool with shooting icicles. The waves advance in level, rising to the extreme height, descending with a massive amount of power, forcing water carelessly afar. The thunder growls displaying its anger with echoes, followed closely by it's companion repeatedly. The lightning flickers in the distance, illuminating the open space. The rain drops into the teacup, splashing and creating several ripples. The wind breathes recklessly, spinning the dainty teacup around in continuous circles. The waves start to rise high and crash harshly back down, sprinkling water over the gentle edges. The storm attacks and it is like a tsunami has begun.
